Rev Andrew Hollins
Previously a NHS Medical Scientist, Methodist Minister since 1994 and Superintendent since 1999, my ministry is rooted in the sacraments and partnership with Christians of other traditions. I'm passionate about high standards in worship (whatever the style). Food, music, walking, laughter and tears are integral to my life and ministry.
Rev Dalwyn Attwell
I come to North Beds directly from studying at Queen's in Birmingham, before which I lived in Berkshire for 20 years where I was a teacher, headteacher and teacher-trainer. I have a great interest in politics and debating (?!) current affairs, albeit these days with less emphasis on party politics. I love to sing (for enjoyment rather than musical purity, following Wesley's instruction to sing lustily and with good courage!)
Rev Gill Baalham
Gill is a minister in the North Bedfordshire Methodist Circuit.
She has pastoral responsibility for:
Clapham Methodist Church
London Road (Bedford) Methodist Church
Oakley Methodist Church
Park Road (Bedford) Methodist Church
Sharnbrook Methodist Church
- collectively known as the SCALLOP Mission Group.
Telephone: 01234 930025
Gill moved to North Bedfordshire from Ipswich, Suffolk, four years ago as a probationary minister. She enjoys leading diverse styles of worship and engaging with church and community alike.
Gill, wife AJ and daughter are managed by two cats. Gill and AJ enjoy gardening, trips around the area and socialising.
Rev Prof Peter Byass
Peter Byass is an ordained minister in the Circuit, but operates differently to colleagues with manses and stipends. He also works as Professor of Global Health, involving many countries and much travel. Currently Peter is looking after Kempston East Methodist Church, and is only occasionally seen elsewhere. He lives in Clophill.
Rev Kathryn Pawlett
I have been a Methodist Minister since 1979 and retired to Wootton in 2014. My husband Brian and I are now very integrated into the Village Community, our Methodist Church Family and the Wootton and Stewartby Churches. We have enjoyed exploring a new area of the county for us and being in easy travelling distance of our own family.
Rev Joanne Sherwood
I have returned to the Circuit following five years of ministry based in Ely. My daughter Sarah is settling into supported living in Cambridgeshire and I am now living with my Dad and Sister. I particularly enjoy leading café style worship and messy church, in addition to the great privilege of presiding at communion. I enjoy caravanning with our 2 berth tourer. We have two cats and three rabbits between us in Barford. I like pottering in the garden, reading, writing, music, singing, steam trains and supporting the National Trust.
Rev Lorna Valentine
I have been in the circuit since August 2016 and this is my first appointment as a minister. I have a passion for leading worship and preaching and enjoy finding ways to be creative in this. I enjoy films, TV and books and often find myself reflecting on how they connect with faith.
Rev Caroline Weaver
Called into ministry from a career with Herts. Libraries, I was ordained in 2001 and served the Hemel Hempstead and Berkhamsted circuit and the Mount prison before moving to N. Beds in 2011. I love God, people, music, words and colour. I enjoy sewing, complicated knitting. and gardening.
Rev Silas Wood
I have moved here from Shrewsbury with my wife Sue and our dog Izzy. I enjoy leading worship and believe that social justice, equality and inclusion are at the heart of a Christian life. My favourite verse is Micah 6:8 - so much so I have it as a tattoo. I also enjoy cycling, badminton, photography and reading.
